The idea of this layout is that it’s located somewhere along the Chiltern Line, around the years 2008/2009. It features a depot for servicing locos and rolling stock. There’s also a small station with a few platforms nearby which play host to various trains from Chiltern Railways and the Wrexham and Shropshire, as well as any other random traffic just passing though (including freight).
Inspiration is pulled from all over the country, from photos and various things I’ve seen. The layout is fairly open-ended and should allow for trains to just pootle about, as well as some shunting and other fun in the sidings. Whilst it’s small, I feel there’s plenty of interest in it. It’s designed to allow longer trains to shoot through, or stop on the way.
One day, I hope it will be good enough to exhibit. You never know!
